At 18,000 SF with seating for 1,300, St. Vincent is one of the largest and newest in Fort Wayne. The congregation had out grown space which they shared with their K-8 day school program. With the new sanctuary, the school renovated the vacated worship space into an educational gymnasium. All together, 25,000 SF of renovation and addition was accomplished throughout through this project at the school.
This north side congregation opted for a dramatic facility that is visible from I-69. It has a circular sanctuary topped by an oculus housing clerestory windows that bring ambient light into and naturally brightens the worship space.
All terrazzo floors, the incorporation of marble and other decorative stone along with a high degree of finish make this one of the most impressive sanctuaries in the region. An additional 15,000 SF of office and education space are a part of the nearly $9 million project for this facility.
The building has open protocol control system and utilizes high efficiency boilers and thermal ice storage for cooling.
