Decatur City Hall Renovation

The City of Decatur enlisted MartinRiley for an in-depth feasibility study and building assessment and eventual renovation of a new city hall building. MartinRiley met with the Mayor and city department heads to inventory current and future space utilization and needs and assess possible locations for a new city hall, one of them included this 8,000 SF (former) bank building in downtown Decatur. The physical assessment included 3-D scanning of the bank, a building envelope assessment, an assessment of the HVAC, electrical, and fire protection systems, an overall building code summary, a space study and a resulting report of all information along with schematic floor plans, recommendations and opinions of probable cost. Once it was determined that adapting this building was the right choice for Decatur, MartinRiley developed construction documents and saw this renovation through construction administration. This former bank building now houses city government offices (Mayor, City Clerk/Treasurer and Council Chambers), the Building Department, City Utilities, and Parking Control.
