This $3.2 million project improved ADA accessibility and promises energy savings for this downtown congregation. Trinity English Lutheran, like many aging churches had been built on multiple levels that limit access. This project added a porte-cochere and new elevators. The east and west wings of the church had no common circulation except below grade or through the sanctuary. The addition now offers accessible circulation at all levels to all areas of the facility. A new ground-water geothermal system was also installed for better energy efficiencies and photo-voltaic panels added to reduce the environmental footprint. The project won the Senator Lugar Energy Award.
